When it comes to anti-aging, prevention is much better than a cure (as my mom has been impressing upon me my entire life. Thanks mom!) After years of experimenting with various skincare devices, I can confidently say the ZIIP Halo is a unique find.

I have been using the Halo and its conductive gels on and off (recently I’ve committed to consistency) since June of last year, and now I am finally ready to share my honest results, especially when it comes to collagen banking—a long-term investment I think your skin will thank your future self for. ;)

What is Collagen Banking, and Why Should You Care?

Collagen banking is the proactive strategy of stimulating collagen growth early to keep your skin looking youthful with age.

Collagen = a vital protein that provides structure and elasticity to our skin.

Collagen production slows down starting from around the early 20’s at a rate of about 1% a year, resulting in less flexible skin as well as the development of fine lines and wrinkles. (Probably more, if you don’t wear sunscreen, as factors such as sun exposure, smoking, and poor nutrition can accelerate this process, making preventive skincare practices essential.)

What you are doing by collagen banking is "saving" collagen while you are younger to compensate for natural loss due to aging. This will keep your skin firm, flexible, and resilient with the passage of time.

The Science Behind ZIIP Halo: Microcurrent & Nanocurrent

The ZIIP Halo stands apart by marrying two sophisticated technologies:

  • Microcurrent: Provides low-level electric currents that stimulate muscles of the face, causing instant lifting as well as toning. It improves circulation while enhancing the flow of lymph, leading to a more defined shape.

  • Nanocurrent™: Employs extremely-low-level electrical currents that imitate the body's natural bioelectricity. This technology works at a cellular level, stimulating ATP (adenosine triphosphate) generation, which powers processes within cells, such as collagen and elastin formation. It creates a firmer, smoother skin texture, inflammation reduction, and long-term collagen formation.

Collectively, these technologies offer immediate as well as cumulative effects, addressing basic issues as well as enhancing deep skin renewal.

How I Utilized the ZIIP Halo for Fine Line Prevention

Using the various treatments provided within the ZIIP app as well as Halo’s built-in 4-minute treatment (“The Lift”), I focused on specific areas:

  • Smile lines

  • Crow’s feet

  • Jawline and neck

I started off using mostly the Electric Complex Gel for my treatments, but switched it up later to include the Silver Gel and Crystal Gel, which include active ingredients that assist with both glowing skin and hydration. There is also the added bonus of being able to leave the Silver and Crystal gels on for further results after the treatment as a mask for up to 20 minutes before washing them off.

The only gel I haven’t yet tried is the Golden Gel, but I hear amazing things! (It seems to sell out often, as it is ZIIP’s most potent anti-aging conductive gel.)

Routine

  • Used the Halo device 2-4 times a week.

  • Used up and out movements with strong but gentle force

  • Made sure to not use ZIIP on the center of my neck, and never on my eyelids

 My Personal Results

  • Tightening under the eyes: significantly smoother within two weeks.

  • Jawline: more defined with less puffiness.

  • Forehead: subtle elevation with reduced fine lines.

  • Smile Lines: not as deep when smiling.

  • Texture: generally softer and more even

The outcome was natural but striking, with my complexion looking more even and less red, which was my desired result. Now to keep it up!

Bonus: Preview of the New ZIIP Dot

While testing the Halo, I also explored the newly released ZIIP DOT, designed specifically for acne, inflammation, and skin healing.

First Impressions:

  • Design: CUTE. Sleek, light, and user-friendly. Comes in Yellow, Purple, White, or Grey.

  • Uses conductive gel; sessions are more focused and of shorter duration.

  • Effectiveness: Experienced faster healing of hormonal chin/jawline breakouts with regular usage.

  • If breakouts are occasional, the DOT + Halo duo = super effective.

Final Verdict: Is the ZIIP Halo Worth It?

Definitely. If you are dedicated to long-term maintenance and skin quality, the ZIIP Halo is certainly worth the investment. It is easy to use, customizable through the app, and encourages rejuvenation from the inside out.

Also, remember that consistency is key. Just as a single Pilates session won't get you abs, collagen-rich skin won't happen overnight. But believe me, your future self will be grateful.

P.S.: Check out my before and after pics above, both before and after using the Halo since June 2024 with regular applications. I’ll be periodically posting IG stories of further progress, so keep an eye out!

Happy ZIIP’ing.

Xoxo
